About Me

I am a 42 yr old mother to 3 beautiful children, ages 19, 15,and 9. (two have type 1 diabetes.) I am married to my best friend for over 18 yrs. My life has been amazingly turned around by the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. Life is busy & difficult at times, but I try to remember how very blessed we are. This blog is where I talk about homemaking, homeschooling, struggles we face with our daughter and the challanges of day to day life with juvenile diabetes.

Summer is certainly in full swing, our garden is providing a few yummy squash every day.The tomatoes are really starting to produce and within a day or two I plan to make a pan of fried green tomatoes. ( we all love them) Today I picked several cucumbers and I plan to make a jar of pickles with them. I had one mess of green beans but they just haven't done well and I doubt I will get any more. I have never been able to get a good harvest from my green beans or peas? I plan to try a fall crop and see if I get better results. We are getting a few peppers now also. These photos are how the garden looks now.

I am happy to be finished with my first summer math course, I will start the second course on Tuesday of next week. Church camp begins Monday, this is the first year Z gets to go (since it's not the same week as diabetes camp this year.) I will be going to camp to keep an eye on his blood sugars and be a cabin "mom'. I will have to leave each day to go to class but I can return every afternoon. Then diabetes camp starts the 12th, Z always has a great time & looks forward to going each year.

Autumn is working hard on her treatment plan and could possibly be coming home before the end of summer. I am planning on picking her up while I'm in little rock on the 12th, for a 3 day pass. She has grown up a bit & is showing a little more maturity. Praise be to God.
I would like to find time to spend a day at the lake with the kids, have a yard sale, plant a flower bed.... oh well, Happy 4th everyone! God bless.
